Nature adventure: The forest knights bring children closer to the forest and its inhabitants.

In line with the pandemic conditions in 2020, Waldritter-Südwest e.V. launched the Adventure Nature project in cooperation with the Saarland Ministry of Education. The aim was to spend six weeks exploring the forest together with the children and experiencing one or two adventures there - a large garden was also created in the youth education center. This area will be used to grow sweetcorn, potatoes and strawberries, for example, as well as lush raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse, rows of berries, a herb spiral, some low-trunk fruit varieties and areas that are just for insect protection. In this way, the children learn an increased appreciation of food and an increased ability to act when it comes to the obvious concerns of nature.
