Hegering Alstätte-Ottenstein-Wessum-Graes e.V.
Fawn rescue in Westmünsterland - modern technology meets tradition and animal welfare. In May of this year, we supported the Hegering Alstätte-Ottenstein-Wessum-Graes e.V. with 500 euros to promote its valuable work in fawn rescue.
The association is highly committed to protecting young wild animals - especially fawns - from being killed by agricultural machinery. With the help of a modern thermal imaging drone, the team searches meadows and fields on a voluntary basis before mowing. This is the quickest and most effective method of preventing animal suffering and at the same time ensuring mowing is carried out safely.
How does fawn rescue work?
Every year, many fawns hiding in the tall grass are killed or seriously injured by agricultural machinery. This is where the association's work comes in: With the help of the thermal imaging drone, fawns and other wild animals can be quickly and efficiently located and rescued before the meadows are mowed.
In addition to animal welfare, the project also arouses the interest of the general public in modern agriculture and the responsible treatment of our wild animals.
Commitment to animal welfare - on a voluntary basis and with heart and soul
The fawn rescue team works on a voluntary basis, so there are no costs for farmers. The association's work not only involves searching for wild animals, but also educating the public. For example, the members of the association were present at exhibitions to inform the public about fawn rescue and the use of modern technology in nature conservation.
The Hegering Alstätte-Ottenstein-Wessum-Graes e.V. is particularly proud of the involvement of children in the rescue operations. They support the team early in the morning and get to know nature up close. This experience raises the next generation's awareness of the environment and animal welfare.
A contribution to the future of nature conservation
Our proWIN pro nature foundation is proud to have supported the association's fawn rescue project with a grant of 500 euros. The funds will help to cover running costs such as insuring the drones and purchasing additional equipment. Through such projects, we want to support animal welfare and sustainable agriculture and contribute to a better future for our environment.
