NaBu Emsland Nord e.V.
We are very pleased to be able to support the "Esterweger Dose nature reserve information stand" project of NaBu Emsland Nord e.V. with a grant of 1,000 euros.
This project is a further step towards raising awareness of the region's unique natural treasures and at the same time offering visitors a valuable point of contact to find out more about the Esterweger Dose nature reserve.
The project in detail
The new information stand will be set up on the border of the Esterweger Dose nature reserve in the municipality of Bockhorst. It is intended to give visitors an understanding of the special importance of this sensitive habitat and raise their awareness of nature conservation. The project has a far-reaching impact beyond the Ohetal-Nordhümmling village region precisely because the area is not only visited by locals, but also by numerous visitors from outside the area.
The municipality of Bockhorst is a member of the Ohetal-Nordhümmling village region, which also includes the municipalities of Esterwegen, Breddenberg and Hilkenbrook. Since the beginning of 2024, these municipalities have benefited from the "village development" project, which enables local associations to launch micro-projects with little financial outlay.
NaBu Emsland Nord e.V. has taken this opportunity to present a project that aims to use the information board to raise awareness of the beauty and importance of the Esterweger Dose nature reserve. The board is part of a larger project that includes a bird observation point (high stand) and a bench. These measures were implemented in close cooperation with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority (UnB) of the district of Emsland.

Implementation of the project
In order to realize the project, NaBu Emsland Nord e.V. had to make a financial contribution of just under 1,000 euros. As these are purely material costs and the production and construction of the board are carried out by the organization itself, it was particularly important to us to support this commitment with our funding.
We greatly appreciate the commitment of the local volunteers and are pleased that we can make an important contribution to the successful implementation of this project with our contribution. Together with NaBu Emsland Nord e.V. and the municipality of Bockhorst, we are committed to preserving nature in all its diversity and at the same time making it an experience for visitors.
We are looking forward to the next steps and the further development of this project.
