Tierschutz im Landkreis Leer e.V.
In June 2024, the proWIN pro nature Foundation supported the animal welfare association in the district of Leer e.V. (Jübberde animal shelter) with a donation of EUR 2,000.
The association has been working tirelessly for the protection and welfare of animals in the region since 1994 and looks after a total of eight communities in the district of Leer. The animal shelter in Jübberde is a central part of their work and offers space for 15 dogs and 60 to 80 cats. The association takes in around 250 to 300 cats every year, which is a major challenge, especially in times of rising costs.
The animal welfare association finances its important work mainly through membership fees, private donations and by taking in found animals on behalf of the local authorities. The funds are urgently needed to ensure that the animals are cared for and looked after. In particular, the growing number of animals with behavioral problems or serious illnesses requires a great deal of attention and expertise. However, rising veterinary costs and the cost of energy and staff are putting increasing pressure on the association's budget.
The funding from the proWIN pro nature foundation provides the animal welfare association with long-term support in its work for animal welfare. The funds flow directly into the care of the animals and help to overcome the growing challenges faced by the animal shelter team on a daily basis. Thanks to the donations, the association can continue to care for sick or hard-to-place animals, neuter stray cats and help behaviorally abnormal dogs on their way to a new home.
The proWIN pro nature Foundation is delighted to support an association with this contribution that has put its heart and soul into animal welfare for many years. proWIN Managing Director Michael Winter was also personally present at the symbolic handover of the cheque in June 2024 to pay tribute to the association's commitment and highlight the important work of the team in Jübberde.
The Jübberde animal shelter is not only a refuge for stray animals and animals in need, but also a place where people can volunteer for animal welfare. Volunteer foster homes play a central role in this, especially in caring for sick or hard-to-place animals. The neutering of stray cats, which is carried out within the scope of the association's financial and human resources, is also an important part of the association's work.
The proWIN pro nature foundation is proud to support the animal welfare organization Tierschutz im Landkreis Leer e.V. and hopes to make a positive contribution to animal welfare in the region through this donation. The commitment of organizations such as the animal welfare association in the district of Leer not only improves the lives of animals, but also raises awareness of animal welfare in society.
