Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V.

Since 2021, the proWIN pro nature foundation has been supporting the Tierfreunde Schaumberg.

Project in Bosnia

Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. is a non-profit organisation that has been dedicated to animal welfare for many years. Thanks to the support of the proWIN pro nature foundation, the organisation was able to set up a small rescue centre in Portugal for dogs that had been rescued from the pound. With a great deal of dedication and passion, the Portuguese animal welfare organisation has now managed to carry out a large part of the work independently.
Following the successful completion of the project in Portugal, Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. is now focussing on Bosnia. There lives a brave 63-year-old animal rights activist called Mrs Bosnijak, also known as ‘Grandma Elvira’, who looks after injured and abandoned dogs on her own. This elderly lady lives away from the village in great poverty and gives everything she has to the homeless animals. The conditions in which she and her animals live were heartbreaking. The organisation launched an appeal for donations to help Grandma Elvira and her animals. Thanks to the donations, the lady was supported, her dogs received veterinary care and were brought to Germany, where they found a new home.
Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. supports Mrs Bosnijak with veterinary costs, food and building materials to create decent accommodation for the dogs. Together with a local vet, who neuters animals several times a year free of charge, much has already been achieved.
The proWIN pro nature foundation is proud to support Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. in its important work. Our funding helps to ensure that the animals in Bosnia receive proper shelter and improved medical care. Together we can ensure that both people and animals in need get the help they deserve.
We would like to thank Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. for its valuable work and hope that we can continue to make a contribution to animal welfare in Bosnia.

Animal shelter Portugal

Since 2021, the proWIN pro nature foundation has been supporting the Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. association with an annual donation of 2,000 euros. This ongoing support has been instrumental in establishing and running an important animal sanctuary in Portugal.
The Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. association has been working in Portugal since 2020 to save dogs from being killed and offer them a safe haven. Thanks to the financial support of the proWIN pro nature foundation, a small but life-saving sanctuary has been set up. This center offers rescued dogs a home where they receive care and medical treatment before being placed in loving hands.
With a lot of energy and passion, the local animal welfare activists carried out most of the work themselves. In 2023, the rescue center managed to save 76 dogs and bring them to Germany, where many have already found a new home.
The work in Portugal is challenging, particularly due to the high costs of vet visits and medical treatment for the dogs. Through its support, the proWIN pro nature Foundation has made a significant contribution to covering these costs and ensuring the survival and well-being of the animals.
One example of the success of these efforts is the rescue of Charly the dog. He was rescued from a terrible shelter, given medical treatment and finally placed with an elderly couple who now offer him a loving home.
Now that the project in Portugal is almost complete and the Portuguese animal welfare activists are able to manage a large part of the work independently, Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. is already planning its next project. Another rescue center is to be built in Bosnia to help dogs in need there too.
The proWIN pro nature Foundation is proud of its successful collaboration with Tierfreunde Schaumberg e.V. and looks forward to continuing to support such important animal welfare projects in the future.
