Germany's largest reptile zoo

Landau is home to the "Reptilium Landau" - Germany's largest reptile zoo. Over 1000 animals from 125 different species live on an area of approx. 3400m² - the Reptilium is divided into a baby and breeding station, a terrarium hall, a desert hall and an outdoor area. Reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, fish and some mammals live in large landscape and biotope terrariums, which are appropriately designed by the animal keepers depending on the country of origin, and the diversity of species in the Reptilium covers all 5 continents of the world, so that you can experience an animal day trip around the world here. The care and maintenance of this special facility is very costly and so the pandemic conditions of 2020 were also a real test for the Reptilium Landau.
