Manuela Schuster's squirrel and small animal rescue centre
In August 2023, proWIN organised a 24-hour darts telethon in cooperation with the German Giant Gabriel Clemens. Thanks to the generous support of the participants, donations in the mid-five-figure range were collected, which were passed on to associations and aid organisations in need.
One of these supported organisations is Manuela Schuster's squirrel and small animal sanctuary in Saarlouis-Roden, Saarland. Manuela Schuster and her husband run the rescue centre on a voluntary basis and look after injured squirrels and orphaned baby squirrels with great dedication. Their aim is to provide these animals with species-appropriate care and to release them back into the wild once they have been successfully reared.
But the centre doesn't just provide a safe home for squirrels. Other animals such as rabbits, mallard ducks, Canada geese, chickens and even two wallabies from the kangaroo species also find shelter and care here. This impressive commitment to animals in need deserves our support.
The proWIN pro nature foundation is delighted to be able to present Manuela Schuster's squirrel and small animal sanctuary with a donation totalling 14,448.75 euros. These funds are urgently needed to maintain and improve the stables and enclosures, buy animal feed and pay veterinary costs. The donation will be used exclusively for these purposes to ensure that the animals receive the best possible care.
"We are honoured to support the commitment of Manuela Schuster and her husband," said a representative of the proWIN pro nature foundation. "Their work is invaluable in rescuing and caring for animals in need. We hope that our donation will help to continue this important work."
The proWIN pro nature Foundation would like to thank everyone who made this support possible by taking part in the darts telethon and other fundraising activities.
