KITZRETTER e .V. saves fawns from death by mowing. The farmers' spring mowing should be as safe as possible to prevent senseless animal suffering.
2024
The breeding, setting and rearing season of fawns, young hares and endangered meadow breeders coincides exactly with the time of the first grassland cut from the beginning of May. This overlap inevitably leads to conflicts, as the wild animals are virtually powerless against the large-scale mowers.
At this critical time, we would like to draw attention to a particularly important initiative: fawn rescue. The proWIN pro nature foundation supports a total of 10 committed organisations in Germany, including the Kitzretter e.V. association, which works tirelessly to protect fawns and other wild animals.
The fawn rescuers are true heroes of nature conservation. Using state-of-the-art technology, including drones and thermal imaging cameras, they scour the fields and meadows before mowing. Their aim is to find the often well-hidden fawns and bring them to safety in good time. This preventive measure is crucial to protect the small wild animals from the dangers of mowing.
The proWIN pro nature Foundation is proud to support these important projects and to thank the organisations for their tireless efforts. The work of the fawn rescuers is indispensable for the protection of our precious nature and the survival of many wild animals.
Together we can make a significant difference and help to ensure that our meadows and fields remain safe habitats for fawns and other wildlife. Many thanks to all fawn rescuers for their dedicated efforts and their contribution to protecting our nature.

The mission of Kitzretter e.V. is to save newborn fawns from being mowed to death - because the little deer are well hidden by their mothers in the tall grass in spring and can therefore hardly be discovered. For this reason, the volunteer rescuers fly over the meadows with drones in spring. This very expensive technical equipment has become indispensable for the association's work. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to support the fawn rescuers with a donation.
