Every spring, a silent battle for survival begins in many meadows - and hardly anyone notices it. While farmers mow their fields in May and June, fawns often lie hidden in the tall grass. The animals instinctively rely on camouflage in the first few weeks of their lives: They duck down in case of danger and remain motionless. But this survival strategy is their downfall when agricultural machinery approaches.
In April 2025, we supported the association Drohnenrettung Aschbach Primstal e.V. with a contribution of 500 euros to help with this very problem.

Protecting little lives - with technology, heart and responsibility.
Animal rescuers with a heart
The association is committed to protecting fawns with a great deal of passion and modern technology. In the early hours of the morning, before the mowing begins, the fields are flown over using a drone equipped with a thermal imaging camera. The fawns are located, carefully retrieved and placed safely at the edge of the fields - far away from danger.
After mowing, the young animals return to where they were found - usually with their mother already waiting there. This reunion is one of the most moving moments in animal welfare work.
With our support, we want to set an example - for the respectful treatment of nature and wildlife and for the great commitment of people who volunteer their time for precisely this protection.
