Butterfly houses Quierschied

On August 22, 2024, the proWIN pro nature Foundation supported the "Building sustainable butterfly houses" project of the Quierschied municipal district with a donation of 500 euros.
This project combines nature conservation and social integration in an exemplary way and offers people of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to actively do something for the environment.

Experience nature conservation up close

Building a butterfly house is not only an exciting craft project for young and old, but also a valuable opportunity to get in touch with our local nature. Children and young people can playfully learn how important butterflies are for our ecosystem and how we can offer them a protected habitat. But adults, including refugees and people with disabilities, also benefit from this activity, which not only teaches manual skills but also raises awareness of environmental protection.

A project for the community

The project aims to promote togetherness in the community and bring different target groups together. A strong sense of community is created through joint handicrafts and creative exchange. It is particularly worth mentioning that all the wooden panels used to build the butterfly houses are FSC®-certified and natural. This ensures that the entire process is sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The simple handling of the materials - a hammer and a screwdriver are all that is needed - makes building the butterfly houses an inclusive activity that is suitable for all age groups and abilities. Even people with motor disabilities can easily take part and actively contribute to the success of the project. This not only promotes social cohesion, but also the self-esteem of the participants.

Promoting creativity and environmental protection

In addition to the social component, building the butterfly houses also offers considerable educational added value. Children can give free rein to their creativity by designing the butterfly houses according to their own ideas. In doing so, they learn in a playful way to take responsibility for nature and how important it is to protect endangered species such as butterflies.
The project also offers a wonderful opportunity for older generations, especially senior citizens, to get actively involved. They can spend valuable time with their grandchildren and make an important contribution to nature conservation at the same time.

A sustainable contribution to nature conservation and integration

The butterfly house project not only serves nature conservation by providing a safe habitat for endangered butterfly species, but also promotes social integration. People of different backgrounds and abilities come together, work towards a common goal and experience first-hand how meaningful and fulfilling protecting our environment can be.
The proWIN pro nature Foundation is pleased to support this valuable project with a donation of 500 euros and thus make a contribution to the promotion of nature conservation and the community.
