On 26 October, a total of 230,000 euros will be donated to 23 projects that comply with the proWIN foundation regulations (projects for children in need and environmental initiatives) as part of this gala evening.
The proWIN Foundation, which supports children's aid projects in Germany and abroad, and the proWIN pro nature Foundation, which is dedicated to protecting the environment and nature, are making this support possible - generously sponsored by the Illingen-based sales company proWIN Winter GmbH.

proWIN foundations launch 2018 funding campaign with networking event
Following the successful premiere last year, there will also be a pro Saarland Foundation Gala for a good cause in 2018.
We want to actively support the valuable and mostly voluntary work carried out by the numerous associations and initiatives in Saarland.

At the same time, we see it as an opportunity to find out about interesting new projects or even to support some that have not yet been able to be realised due to a lack of attention and funding," agree Gabi Winter, patron of the proWIN Foundation, and her son Michael Winter, trustee of the proWIN pro nature Foundation.
Over the last few years, an energetic network has developed, which is constantly supplied with fresh ideas and input on meaningful initiatives through close cooperation with ministries and non-governmental organisations. Part of this network came together at the Illipse on 7 May to find out about the new funding campaign and exchange ideas.

Only projects that fulfil the respective foundation regulations can be supported. The goals anchored in these regulations are:
- proWIN Foundation: Help for sick and needy children as well as educational fields and tasks that can be assigned to this objective.
- proWIN pro nature Foundation: Environmental and species protection, including the fields of environmental education and training.
Interested associations and initiatives can apply for funding until 1 September 2018. The required documents can be requested by email at stiftungen@prowin.net.
The submitted projects will be reviewed after the closing date. Following a successful review, the winning projects will be selected in a draw.
On the evening of 26 October, the winners will be honoured at the gala and officially receive their support cheque as well as something priceless on top, emphasises Michael Winter: "It's not just about handing over a big piece of cardboard with a sum of money. We also want to give the people behind these projects a public platform to present their important and meaningful work. Our gala provides this framework. At the same time, we want to give people the opportunity to make contacts with political representatives and potential sponsors. Networking in the best sense of the word!"

The Winter and Schäfer families are committed. For them, taking responsibility and, in particular, supporting those who have to overcome a difficult fate is part of the character of a social society. Alleviating the suffering of children is particularly close to their hearts. After all, they are highly dependent on good care and support. Unfortunately, many children suffer hardship. The reasons for this can be illness, disability, poverty, death of parents, natural disasters or war. The proWIN Foundation for Children in Need is committed to giving them a chance of a good future. It was founded in March 2010. It can be used to support selected social projects for children and young people.

For proWIN, GREEN is not just a colour, but also an attitude. With its fascinating biodiversity, nature is simply a huge miracle - and that is why we have been committed to it for a long time. On 6 July 2016, we opened a whole new chapter for this topic: The company's own nature conservation foundation, proWIN pro nature, was entered into the foundation register. It stands for the consistent further development of our commitment.
Its purpose is:
- to promote science and research, particularly in the fields of ecology and biology
- the promotion of nature conservation and environmental protection, in particular coastal and water protection
- the promotion of animal welfare, in particular the protection of endangered animal species
The purpose can be realised at home and abroad. The foundation supports a wide range of projects, most of which are designed for the long term. Commitment to environmental protection requires a great deal of planning, perseverance and patience. Results are not usually visible overnight, but rather involve a process of change with countless small steps.
