Photo travelling exhibition LEBENSWELTEN makes a guest appearance at Saarbrücken Zoo

From now on, zoo visitors can view a selection of nature photographs in XXL format when visiting the Africa House. In addition, two of the photographic works are on display in the reptile house - near the crocodiles. These were on display for the first time as part of the animal exhibits exhibition ‘Body Worlds of Animals’. Zoo Director Jakob Kolleck: ‘I am delighted to be able to present these high-calibre photographs at Saarbrücken Zoo as part of the cooperation with the proWIN pro nature foundation. They fit in perfectly with our theme and are a great visual complement to the experience of visiting the Africa House and the animal species housed there.’

The idea for this co-operation arose from the positive response that Jakob Kolleck gave the proWIN pro nature Foundation to its photo exhibition in the Saarlandhalle. Both institutions - Saarbrücken Zoo and the proWIN pro nature Foundation - are essentially committed to the same thing: To show as many people as possible the diversity and magnificence of nature and its creatures and to sensitise them to nature and species conservation. Furthermore, both institutions are committed to giving nature and environmental education a stronger experiential character. The exhibition is therefore accompanied by a knowledge rally that children and young people can access using a QR code: This is intended to sharpen their ecological understanding of animal species and their habitats and interrelationships.

The proWIN pro nature Foundation was established in 2016 by the Winter/Schäfer family of entrepreneurs. Its primary funding objectives are environmental protection and species conservation as well as environmental education and training.
