Photo exhibition "LEBENSWELTEN" at Saarbrücken Zoo

The opening evening for the travelling exhibition LEBENSWELTEN by the proWIN pro nature Foundation and Saarbrücken Zoo will take place on 19 August 2024. The photo exhibition will be installed at Saarbrücken Zoo until 20 November 2024.
Together with Saarbrücken Zoo, the proWIN pro nature Foundation is presenting the impressive photographic exhibits of proWIN pro nature Foundation curator Michael Winter in an exclusive travelling exhibition. The exhibition, entitled LEBENSWELTEN, will complement the concept of the Africa House at Saarbrücken Zoo for 12 weeks from 19 August 2024, bringing the fascinating diversity of nature directly to visitors.

Opening of the photo exhibition with networking event

A special networking evening will be held on 19 August 2024 to mark the opening of the photo exhibition at Saarbrücken Zoo. At this event, guests and friends of photography and animal and species conservation can experience a special evening in the unique atmosphere of the Afrikahaus.

Photographic art in XXL format

Following the networking event, zoo visitors will be able to marvel at a selection of Michael Winter's nature photographs in XXL format when they visit the Africa House from 20 August 2024. The impressive photographs were first shown as part of the animal exhibition "Body Worlds of Animals" and will be on display in the Africa House for 12 weeks from the opening at Saarbrücken Zoo. The photographs show the breathtaking diversity of nature and offer visitors a visual complement to the experience of visiting the Africa House.

Shared goals and visions

The co-operation with Saarbrücken Zoo came about as a result of the positive response of the zoo director Jakob Kolleck to the photo exhibition. In addition, Saarbrücken Zoo and our proWIN pro nature foundation pursue the same goals: To show as many people as possible the diversity and magnificence of nature and its creatures and to sensitise them to nature and species conservation.

Stronger experiential character in environmental education

Saarbrücken Zoo and our foundation are also committed to making nature and environmental education more experiential. The exhibition is therefore accompanied by an exciting knowledge rally on site, which children and young people can access using a QR code. The aim is to sharpen their ecological understanding of animal species and their habitats.
I am delighted to be able to present these high-calibre images at Saarbrücken Zoo as part of our cooperation with the proWIN pro nature foundation. They fit in perfectly with our theme and are a great visual complement to the experience of visiting the Africa House and the animal species housed there.
