Friedrich-Schiller-School Heusweiler

proWIN pro nature Foundation supports animal and garden project at Friedrich-Schiller-Schule Heusweiler.
The animal and garden project at the Friedrich Schiller School in Heusweiler is an impressive example of how important it is for children and young people to experience nature. With great dedication, the pupils look after five dwarf goats and around 20 chickens on a 1,200 m² outdoor area and learn every day what responsibility, sustainability and respectful treatment of living creatures mean.
The project aims to transfer theoretical learning content into practical, real-life situations. Animals and nature become active learning partners: they promote calm and concentration, stimulate communication and strengthen social skills. The animal-assisted experiences offer valuable opportunities for integration, particularly for children who find it difficult to connect in traditional lessons. The animal project is complemented by a school garden whose produce is used directly. A mobile learning platform is also currently being built in the form of a restored construction trailer, which will serve as a link between the garden and the animal project in future. The power supply is supplied entirely by solar energy.
The proWIN pro nature Foundation is supporting this project with 500 euros to promote the implementation of the self-sufficient learning platform. In this way, the foundation is helping young people to experience the value of nature, responsibility and sustainability - in line with the foundation's philosophy: "Understanding nature. Shaping the future."
